What's next? (coin/wire post-install)
#1
So I've installed skycoin wallet and the skywire node on Ubuntu as per the instructions here:

https://skywug.net/forum/Thread-Configur...ntu-Server

What's next? Is there any way to test that it is 'working' properly?

What ports are required to be externally accessible? At the moment, I've only got port 6000 accessible from the outside world.
Accessing the node software looks the same as the instructions, I did notice this though, with an exclamation mark:

What interfaces should be accessible for users? Is there a simple way to check the sync status?

I have the following output from the 'node':

skywireuser@skywire:~/go/bin$ ./node -connect-manager -manager-address :5998 -manager-web :8000 -discovery-address messenger.skycoin.net:5999 -address :5000 -web-port :6001

The skycoin application is continually spitting out "Failed to record transaction" (normal behaviour)

Cheers!

Here's a copy paste of my node's public key:
02a4813043162b6d808157b2fb770c2f8f49c4d4f08150fb7bd837ee461131f409

I'll try yours (i can see it in your bash dump), and then get to work on installing skywire on one of my other computers and try connecting those together while I wait for your response

fair warning I have little idea what I'm doing so far, I learn by diving in over my head. i don't have any wallets on this pc just in case I give somebody more access/permissions than i realize. I recommend the same while we're figuring this out Wink

Does this mean I'm visible to other nodes? or just to myself

Where are you 'trying' my key? I can't see anywhere to add a node address. I can click on my node and then settings, but I assume that's to set/configure my node, not to connect to others?

Yeah I tried putting it there I don't think it did anything haha. got distracted ordering miner parts, next im gonna pull out some old hardware and try connecting multiple nodes together here as a way of learning more.
