Skywire node on Windows
#91
I'm having an issue towards the end of the Skywire instructions.
When I open the second git terminal and enter the commands I eventually end up with this:

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 /c/work
$ cd $GOPATH/bin

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 ~/go/bin
$ ./node.exe -connect-manager -manager-address :5998 -manager-web :8000 -discovery-address
flag needs an argument: -discovery-address
Usage of C:\Users\detre\go\bin\node.exe:
 -address string
       address to listen on (default ":5000")
 -auto-start-path string
       path to save launch info (default "C:\\Users\\detre\\.skywire\\node\\autoStart.json")
 -conf string
       node default config (default "C:\\Users\\detre\\.skywire\\node\\conf.json")
 -connect-manager
       connect to manager if true (default true)
 -discovery-address value
       addresses of discovery
 -manager-address string
       address of node manager (default ":5998")
 -manager-web string
       address of node manager (default ":8000")
 -seed
       use fixed seed to connect if true (default true)
 -seed-path string
       path to save seed info (default "C:\\Users\\detre\\.skywire\\node\\keys.json")
 -v    print current version
 -web-port string
       monitor web page port (default ":6001")

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 ~/go/bin
$ discovery.skycoin.net:5999-034b1cd4ebad163e457fb805b3ba43779958bba49f2c5e1e8b062482904bacdb68  -address :5000 -web-port :6001
bash: discovery.skycoin.net:5999-034b1cd4ebad163e457fb805b3ba43779958bba49f2c5e1e8b062482904bacdb68: command not found

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 ~/go/bin
$

In the first git window I end up like this, and not sure if the command is finished working..:

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 /c/work
$ mkdir.exe -p $GOPATH/src/github.com/skycoin

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 /c/work
$ cd $GOPATH/src/github.com/skycoin

detre@DESKTOP-E7HTH8U MINGW64 /c/work/src/github.com/skycoin
$ git clone -b master https://github.com/skycoin/skywire.git

You are now helping the network. You should be able to find yourself here: http://discovery.skycoin.net:8001/#/

and you can also use it as a vpn

Follow steps 3 to 5 again and see if it resolves your issue. A reboot might be required after adding the go path

Hello,

First time poster here...been reading up on Skycoin/Skywire the last few days....definitely a noob to all of this but want to dive into it. I've been investing in crypto some earlier in the year, then studied up on GPU/Asic miners but yet to turn a couple on, now looking at this....

So, as a first step beyond reading up on everything here in the community of forums, would starting off with this exercise of creating a node on my PC or DIY a miner with 8 nodes be the best first step to move forward?

Thanks for all of the information you are providing!

PS, feel free to move this post to the appropriate thread if not in the right place to ask the question.

https://github.com/skycoin/skywire/blob/...t_rules.md

These are the rules for the testnet ^

Currently, skywire is in a testnet. To "Mine" you need to run 8 low powered ARM Computers such a Raspberry pi's or orange pi's or something like that. They will hook up to a Tor like network to encrypt and transfer data anonymously.

If you have more questions please feel free to ask it in your own post and ill tackle the question more in depth.

I'm also having this issue, reinstalled and no change.

Windows 10 setup.

netstat -an shows tcp 127.0.0.1:8000 is established

bash shell shows this message repeatedly after the server is activated using the script:
time="2018-11-24T11:42:25Z" level=debug msg="not implemented msg type [71]" ctxId=9 type=tcp
time="2018-11-24T11:42:25Z" level=debug msg="SetStatusToError not implemented msg type 71" ctxId=8 dir=in mf=0xc0000bc1e0 type=tcp
time="2018-11-24T11:42:25Z" level=debug msg="conn closed" ctxId=12 dir=in mf=0xc0000bc1e0 type=tcp

I'll look at this later.
